What is dental bridge?
A dental bridge is made up of two dental crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap and false tooth/teeth in between. Natural teeth, dental implants, or a combination of natural teeth and dental implants can be used to support the bridge.
Dental bridges will help sustain the natural appearance of your teeth and prevent drifting of teeth. If a missing tooth is not taken care of, your adjacent teeth will drift into the open area. This can complicate matters as severe drifting may rule out the placement of a bridge.
Zirconium Bridge is the best and can simulate natural teeth in colour, translucency, and function. There are also all metal bridges or porcelain fused to metal bridges that are less aesthetically pleasing.
The Dental Bridge Procedure
Dental bridge work begins by filing down the adjacent teeth to accommodate the crowns. Afterwards it needs to be taken impressions of the teeth, which will be used to create the dental crowns.
Once the crowns are finished the false tooth (or teeth) will be bonded to them. Finally, crowns are securely cemented over the surrounding teeth to complete your smile with the dental bridge. With proper care, dental bridges will last five to seven years and, in some cases, longer.
